Project days for a sustainable (more) fashion industry
In the face of global crises and major societal challenges, such as the socio-ecological transformation, supporters are needed who can imagine the change and assess the effectiveness of measures and decisions taken. The basis for this is the perception of the future as open and configurable and an education that enables people to actively participate in the necessary processes of change. We want to develop this perspective together with your students with a view to textiles.
With our project days, we want to raise students' awareness of the global contexts and problems in the global textile and clothing industry. Based on the current situation, we take a look into the future: How do we hope for the textile industry in 2050? What levers can we use to create a fairer and more environmentally sustainable textile industry? And what do we need to pay attention to in order to prevent negative developments?
In this process of developing future scenarios, methods of shaping the future are used, which point beyond the current situation and open up a thought space for change. Students contribute their creativity to the design of their desired futures and develop the steps necessary for their implementation. While they are intensively involved in the textile industry.
The concept of the project days follows a tripartite division
- introduction of content,
- dealing with one's own visions of the future (relating to the textile industry) and
- the development of strategies to shape the future accordingly and their implementation. (The implementation can only be initiated during the project days. However, we are also available to advise on school projects after the workshop.)
Our educational format expects six school hours. However, it is designed so flexibly that we can shorten or expand individual components in consultation with you. The school form and age of the pupils are also taken into account separately for each project day.
We would also like to offer such a project day at your school.
