Our board of directors

FEMNET e.V. is currently represented by four honorary women board members who use their know-how from various professional contexts such as human and labour rights, development policy, sustainability, the clothing industry, education, media and public relations for the goals of the association.

Dr. Gisela Burckhardt

is the chairwoman of the board. She works as a development policy expert and campaigner. Her focus is on social human rights.

Sabine Hartig

is Deputy Spokesperson of the Board. She has worked in development cooperation for over 30 years and now contributes her extensive experience and knowledge from the production countries to FEMNET.

Adiba Afros

Adiba Afros

She's an associate. As a doctoral student at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, she conducts research on labour standards and the well-being of women workers in the clothing industry and brings over 12 years of experience in the areas of gender equality and human rights due diligence in global supply chains.

Aika-Maresa Fischbeck

She's a Lay Assessor. She studied at the Department of Textile and Clothing Technology at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Mönchengladbach, completed her Master's degree in Trade & Retail and has been working in various positions in the FEMNET team for several years.

Norah Joskowitz

Norah Joskowitz

She's an associate. After studying fashion and design management in Berlin and fashion science in Stockholm, she ran her own fashion label from 2018 to 2025. Her work focuses on weight discrimination and intersectional feminism.
