Whether it is workwear, sports jerseys or flat linen, textiles are used in many areas. Sustainable criteria in the purchasing strategy can positively influence working conditions and environmental impacts along textile supply chains. Sustainable textile purchasing is therefore an important contribution to a responsible and future-oriented economy.

Textiles are often produced under inhuman conditions: Low wages, overtime, discrimination and a lack of organisational freedom are commonplace in many factories. Extensive water consumption, chemicals in rivers and an 8% share of global CO2 emissions make textiles a highly critical product, even from an ecological point of view.

Sustainable alternatives ensure that textile purchasing is made fairer. FEMNET and the Global Nature Fund (GNF) will accompany you! We offer you orientation in the jungle of seals and standards, sensitize you to social and ecological grievances along global textile supply chains and invite you to exciting discussions with experts in textile purchasing.
