For active people in fair trade Since the end of 2015, FEMNET e.V. has been advising procurement managers on the purchase of fair-produced workwear. The new public procurement reform has broadened the scope for implementing social criteria, but the possibilities have not yet been fully implemented. In order to advance and support the process, constant and effective lobbying is required on the one hand, and competent contact persons for advising city employees on the other. Strategy Workshops in Fairtrade Towns Your city is one of over 525 Fairtrade Towns in Germany and you would like to expand the topic of Fair Public Procurement in your municipal administration? We support Fairtrade-Town steering groups with on-site advice! In Fairtrade Towns, the topic of fair public procurement is on the local agenda. Fairly traded coffee and another fair trade product are used at all meetings of the Council and the committees, as well as in the offices of the mayors and the district councillor. The living situation of the people who manufacture these products is becoming more and more important and municipal administrations often include fair trade criteria in lighthouse projects. To strengthen fair public procurement, we offer a total of 15 two- to four-hour strategy workshops. In 2018, we will accompany the Fairtrade Towns of Aurich, Güntersleben, Hannover, Rostock and Saarbrücken. There are still places available for 2019, apply now! This current offer (PDF file) can be found here. Based on our experience with the first control groups, we develop a brochure that we make available to other Fairtrade Towns. back
