FEMNET carries the Just Fashion Manifesto! For a fair fashion system!
Together with 200+ allies we carry the Just Fashion Manifesto. We share the vision of a fair fashion system that puts people above profits.
Fashion can never be sustainable if the people who make our clothes are underpaid, overworked and unprotected. Fashion can never be fair when pollution and garbage are the norm. Social justice and climate justice are two sides of the same coin. The Just Fashion Manifesto formulates principles for a just fashion system. The manifesto was initiated by the global network "Clean Clothes Campaign". The final version was published worldwide on 1 May 2026 and takes into account hundreds of contributions, comments and points of view, including from industry representatives worldwide.

- Decent work, a high quality of life and equal rights for all workers along the value chain are guaranteed.
- Ensure justice in all its forms – social, economic, gender and climate-related – today and in the future.
- ensure that the costs of climate adaptation and protection are borne fairly.
- Invite workers to take part in decisions and speak out without fear.
- Reduces overproduction while increasing job security.
- Companies and their managers are responsible for the damage caused.
- pursues new methods and equitable pathways for the cultivation and processing of raw materials, as well as for the production, transport, sale, recycling and recovery of clothing, footwear and accessories.
The manifesto underscores: We want a world where we have enough for a good life, respect workers' rights, and respect planetary boundaries.
We can do this – but only if we stand up for our right to a dignified life and a future worth living in. Change doesn't start on the boards. It starts with us.
