Fair uniforms: Law and order in procurement

Berlin and Brandenburg want to be fairer: In the future, the employees of the public service should wear sustainable service clothing. FEMNET is currently advising the Central Procurement Office for Brandenburg. This procures workwear bundled for both federal states.

A contracting authority goes shopping

If such a contracting entity goes shopping, then some things can come together: The central contracting authority procures service and work clothing for a large number of employees in the public sector. She buys uniforms for police officers, for employees of the judiciary and for employees of the public order offices. All the more reason to do everything right in terms of sustainability. FEMNET is here with advice and action to the side: What social and environmental criteria are recommended? What evidence should bidders provide? And how can the market be ‘prepared’ for fair criteria to be firmly anchored in procurement?

Committed to Responsibility

Sustainable procurement is a priority in Brandenburg: The sustainability strategy adopted in 2014 obliges the contracting authorities of the country to purchase fairly. Public procurement should lead by example: It should help to increase the general demand for fair products and thus ‘motivate’ the market to expand its fair supply.

FEMNET advises cities and municipalities in Brandenburg

Brandenburg is not only becoming fairer at the state level. Auch Städte und Gemeinden arbeiten daran, nachhaltig zu beschaffen. FEMNET offers further support here: In 2020 and 2021, we will focus on Brandenburg.
