Pressemeldungen - Unternehmensverantwortung & Lieferkettengesetz 10 April 2025 Planned weakening of the Supply Chain Act: Sharp criticism of the coalition agreement between the Union and the SPD FEMNET is a member of the Supply Chain Act initiative. Here we publish the joint statement of this initiative on the coalition agreement between the CDU/CSU and the SPD published on April 9, 2025. Berlin. In the coalition agreement published today, the SPD and the Union announce a significant weakening of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act. Heike Drillisch from the Initiative Supply Chain Act explains: ‘We react with great horror to the plans in the coalition agreement to pull the teeth of the German supply chain due diligence law. The planned abolition of sanctions and reporting obligations would render the Supply Chain Act virtually ineffective until the implementation of the EU Supply Chain Directive. This would be a massive step backwards in protecting human rights and the environment along global supply chains – and sends a fatal signal to the many companies that The regulations have already been successfully implemented. In the comparatively short period of two years, the German Supply Chain Act has already led to structural improvements. We call on the members of the Bundestag to make a clear commitment to the protection of human rights and the environment and not to support the weakening of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act. The Federal Government must effectively implement the German law and promote the preservation of the EU Supply Chain Directive in the EU.” Press contact: Sofie KreuschTel.: +49 (0)30 577132890This email address is being protected from spambots.
