A supply chain law for Germany and Europe!

German companies are repeatedly involved in human rights violations and environmental destruction around the world without fear of legal consequences. Against profits without conscience only a legal framework helps. Since June 2021, this has been in place for Germany, and now we also need a European supply chain law.

Terrifying reports of burning factories, exploitative child labour or destroyed rainforests show time and again: Voluntarily, many companies do not meet their responsibilities sufficiently. That is why we are calling for a supply chain law in Germany! Companies that cause or accept damage to people and the environment in their supply chains must be liable. Unscrupulous business practices can no longer be left without consequences.

© Justice is Everybody’s Business The Supply Chain Act initiative is a broad civil society alliance of over 125 human rights, development and environmental organisations, trade unions and churches, including FEMNET, which Clean Clothes Campaign and this Network CorA. The initiative advocates a world where companies respect human rights and avoid environmental degradation throughout their supply chain, from raw material extraction to end customers, not only at home but also abroad.

Do you also want to call for an effective supply chain law for Europe? There are many ways to support the initiative. You can download or order information material, an argumentation guide and signature lists online.
