Every drop counts: The well project has an impact
Clean water changes lives. Thanks to the support of many donors, our well project was implemented in Bangladesh. Today, 10,000 people benefit from safe access to clean drinking water.
In two municipalities in the Savar district, FEMNET and its partner organisations ESDO and Agroho have built five water filtration systems and a deep well. This means that around 10,000 people now have access to clean drinking water, including many employees of the surrounding textile factories and their families.
The new facilities noticeably improve the living conditions on site. They protect against harmful contaminants such as arsenic, lead and mercury and make everyday life easier for many families. The high demand from neighboring communities shows how urgently safe drinking water supply is needed in the region. Therefore, the project is to be extended to other municipalities.
The well project is part of our multi-actor partnership, with which we develop solutions for the most urgent challenges together with the local people.
In order for even more people to have access to clean drinking water, we continue to rely on donations. Every support helps us to continue the project and to reach further communities together with our partner organisations. Thank you very much for your support!
