An essential part of this corporate due diligence is to identify and know what risks and potential harms arise from their business activities. This principle has also been taken up in the goals of the Alliance for Sustainable Textiles. With regard to the production of cotton, the Textile Alliance has identified critical points for sustainable production: on the one hand child labour, forced labour, health and safety risks and on the other hand soil, pest and water problems.
