News about Our Work - © FEMNET 21 May 2025 FEMNET at the Church Congress 2025: Encounters, exchange and new impulses From 30 April to 4 May 2025, we were able to attend the Evangelical Church Congress in Hanover – and the impressions are still having an impact. For three days, FEMNET was in the Centre of Youth represented with a stand. Under the guiding question “How can we build solidarity?” We talked to a lot of interested visitors. Triggered by a hook-and-loop game developed by students for our fashion interACTION network and our Slow Fashion Challenge, topics such as global justice, fair production conditions and sustainable consumption met with great interest – especially among young people who want to actively promote change. In addition to numerous exciting discussions, the Kirchentag was also a valuable opportunity for networking with other organizations. Our board member Franziska Wiethold was also there and took the opportunity to deepen existing contacts and make new acquaintances. Our colleague Kenza Podieh was also able to generate attention and interest in the topic of sustainable procurement in her workshop "New Ways to Sustainability: Eco-Fair Textile Purchasing in Youth Educational Institutions", which she held together with Fairtrade on 1 May. We take a lot of food for thought with us and look forward to the positive feedback on our work. A big thank you to all who visited us at the booth and were part of the workshop! We are already looking forward to the next Kirchentag – and to getting even more people excited about fair fashion and global justice. Photos: © FEMNET
