Travelling exhibition successfully completed
Thousands of people have the FEMNET exhibition ‘I'll make your clothes! The strong women from Southeast Asia’ since 2015. For more than four years, the nine portraits of workers from Cambodia and Bangladesh toured all over Germany. With our exhibition project, the distribution of portrait prints ends.
The strong women have inspired countless people to deal with the manufacturing conditions of clothing. We are overwhelmed by the great resonance. The concept has been fully developed: The exhibition brings to the fore the women who sew our T-shirts, dresses and trousers under the most difficult conditions and shows them as strong personalities. Informative, moving and impressive, so the consistently positive feedback on the traveling exhibition. Above all, the portrayal of the portrayed workers as activists who take their fate and that of their colleagues into their own hands and fight for better working conditions for an entire industry has left a lasting impression on many visitors.
The highlight and conclusion of the travelling exhibition was the presentation of the strong women in the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum in Cologne as part of the special exhibition ‘Fast Fashion’ with almost 45,000 exhibition guests, including over 30 school classes. During the course of the project, the travelling exhibition was shown at 38 locations and, together with the poster sales, reached 100,000 people in over 100 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by the end of 2018.
