International women’s strike – FEMNET was present
The FEMNET team today joined the international women's strike in Bonn on Münsterplatz. Together with many others, we have set a clear signal: We've had enough.
Enough of exploitation. Enough of sexual assault and hatred of women, both online and offline. Enough of women doing the majority of unpaid care work worldwide while experiencing structural discrimination, violence and unequal pay.
On International Women's Day and around the women's strike on 9 March, women around the world* take to the streets to draw attention to it. In Bonn, too, many people on Münsterplatz raised their voices loudly and visibly – for equality, against patriarchal structures and against the multiple forms of injustice that affect women* worldwide.
>Also on all other days, we at FEMNET are committed to women's rights – especially women's rights in global supply chains in the apparel industry. Together with our partner organisations, we fight against exploitation, for fair working conditions and for more justice. The women's strike shows: Change needs solidarity, visibility and loud voices. We stay loud until something changes.
