CorA network position paper : Seals, standard systems and legal regulations for the enforcement of labour and human rights

The CorA network advocates binding instruments that oblige companies to respect human rights as well as internationally recognized social and ecological norms and standards in their value chain. The current social and political debate is increasingly discussing the introduction of state product labels – such as those proposed for the textile sector – as well as the importance of other standard systems in connection with the implementation of the EU Procurement Directive and the ‘Seal Clarity’ website maintained by the BMZ. The present paper of the CorA network describes requirements for effective social seals and other standard systems for the enforcement of labour and human rights and then addresses the importance of legal regulations.
