Factsheet: Microplastics from textiles - how it is created and how it can be avoided

Microplastics in the environment is a much-discussed topic. Our clothing also contributes significantly to this problem, because an estimated 20 to 35 percent of the total microplastic input is due to fibre abrasion from textiles. During each washing process, the smallest particles are released from synthetic clothing, which can enter the environment via the wastewater. The factsheet explains about microplastics and how they can be avoided.
