Campaign #Against violence against textile workers © FEMNET Bangladesh: Empowering women, creating contact points and laws Our Partner organisation BCWS works consistently towards the establishment of factory committees as contact points for women, so that the workers can discuss experiences of violence in dialogue with each other and with management. They must also have clear responsibilities to remedy the situation. They are informed about their rights and supported in the organization of their interests in the sense of help for self-help. More than 3,000 workers and numerous factory managers take part in our training courses in Bangladesh. Of these, 70% are women and 30% are men. As part of the meetings with other women, the workers can exchange experiences in a protected space. Subsequent trainings aim to strengthen their awareness of their own rights and options for action. In addition, supported by a legal position paper, we also want to win over the political actors in Bangladesh to our cause, so that legal foundations and their implementation are improved. back
