Turkish textile workers earn only a quarter of what they would need to live

In the country profile, the Clean Clothes Campaign shows how much wages in the Turkish textile industry are below the level of livelihoods – the amount that would be necessary to cover basic living costs. The article shows that workers often earn only about a quarter of this living wage. It analyses factors such as policy regulations, business practices and global market constraints, and formulates demands for binding standards, more transparent supply chains and better labour rights.
