Bitter Seeds - film and workbook

The documentary ‘Bitter Seeds’ by Micha X. Peled focuses on the effects of genetic engineering in cotton farming in India. Overpriced, genetically modified cotton seeds and the monopoly position of the producers mean that more and more Indian cotton farmers are falling into a debt trap. If there is still a bad harvest, the situation for individuals is so hopeless that the escape to self-chosen death is seen as the only way. The sad outcome of this development: Every 30 minutes a farmer takes his own life in India.
