Recherchetool für Materialien Global Organic Textile standard The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized today as the world's leading standard for the processing of textiles from controlled organically produced natural fibers. At a high level, it defines environmental requirements and at the same time demands compliance with minimum social criteria along the entire textile production chain. On-site inspections and the certification of pre-basic companies, manufacturers and dealers by independent, specially accredited testing institutes form the basis of the GOTS certification system. The standard allows the manufacturing industry to offer its textiles made of biofibers on the basis of a certification that is recognized in all major retail markets. GOTS-certified textiles can no longer only be found on the shelves of natural textile shops, but also at large retailers and brands. GOTS-certified textiles are marked in the retail trade with the GOTS logo, reference to the certifier and license number.
