Fashion blogger Willy Iffland and journalist Helen Fares visit people in different positions in the industry and get a very private and authentic insight. What does ‘making fashion’ mean for Cambodians and what factors influence it?

The film is about honest encounters and the expansion of consciousness of the protagonists Helen Fares and Willy Iffland, depicted by constant reflection on a road trip into the heart of the Cambodian fashion industry. Inspired by respectful encounters with locals, is MODE. POWER. A snapshot of an industry that represents almost a fifth of Cambodia's approximately 16 million people's livelihoods and everyday reality.

In addition to issues such as safe working conditions, fair wages and living in Cambodia – suggests MODE. POWER. PEOPLE. again and again bridges to strong zeitgeist topics such as egoism and consumption in current capitalism (‘fast fashion’), feminism and sustainability.
