Recherchetool für Materialien G*OSH – Gender sensitive views on Occupational Safety and Health G*OSH is the English-language magazine on gender equality in health and safety at work in the footwear and clothing industry. It is published as part of a project by SÜDWIND and FEMNET e.V. with Trade Union Rights Center (TURC) in Indonesia and Cividep in India. Together we are working on a more gender-sensitive perspective in the occupational health and safety of the clothing and footwear industry. The focus is on production regions in Indonesia and India as well as opportunities for action in Germany. Most of the workers in the footwear and textile industry are women. This is why they are particularly affected by the consequences of the often harmful working conditions. Gender influences risks and needs: Women, for example, are more exposed to the risk of (sexualised) violence and discrimination in the workplace. Good sanitary conditions are even more important for women's health than for men's. In addition, the burdens of housework, childcare and low-paid work create great psychological and financial pressures, especially for many women worldwide. extent: 20 pagesreference : The report is to download (PDF file) back
