Based on an investigation with interviews with workers in a gutting factory in West India, the Fact-Sheet addresses the lack of freedom of association in West Indian textile factories. It deals with the framework conditions (not) possible organization of employees as well as the local legal requirements for freedom of association and, against this background, explains the violations of the right to freedom of association. In summary, it makes recommendations for strengthening the freedom of association in the companies examined as well as in other companies in the region and the industry.
