“BUY GOOD STUFF Fair Fashion Shopping Guide Köln” presented to the public at the Fair Trade Night

Buy Good Stuff title KöelnUnder the patronage of the Mayor of Cologne, Ms Henriette Reker, the BUY GOOD STUFF Fair Fashion Shopping Guide Cologne was launched on 22 September 2016! FEMNET e.V. and AMD Akademie Mode & Design, Department of Design at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, jointly published the first Fair Fashion Guide for Cologne.

Sustainability and conscious consumption - the lifestyle with ecologically sustainable and socially fair products has long since arrived in fashion. Not only the well-known Cologne-based labels ARMEDANGELS and LANIUS demonstrate how it works. BUY GOOD STUFF, the first eco-fair shopping guide for fashion in Cologne, proves that not only the Green Concept Stores, but also numerous fashion shops, offer attractive fashion in many quarters of the shopping metropolis on the Rhine, which is at the same time socially fair and ecologically sustainable produced - for every taste and budget. The green lifestyle conquers the fashion stores and proves: Fashion is not only beautiful, but can also be responsible!

But where exactly do you find these shops in Cologne? What do you have to pay attention to when buying? Which seals are credible? Who is committed to sustainability and fairness in fashion? To find answers to these questions, FEMNET e.V. and about 60 students from AMD Akademie Mode & Design, Mode- und Designmanagement, 700 Cologne clothing stores, surveyed. The objective: Raise awareness of the topic and bundle the information in an exciting shopping guide, which is now available.

Students from the University of Cologne also took part in a survey. They examined the demand for green fashion. The result: 75% of the respondents showed interest and would like to get information with the help of an eco-fair purchasing guide.

One guide, 144 pages, one thousand information: In addition to an extensive store directory, store and designer portraits, interviews, reports and reports provide new insights into the world of sustainable fashion. The students designed an attractive fashion photo gallery with eco-fair fashion in front of the backdrop of Cologne. The pictures show Cologne's joie de vivre and make you want the green lifestyle.

On one Panel discussion The question “How sustainable can fashion be – how fashionable can sustainability be?” was discussed with experts from the sustainable fashion scene. Cologne-based labels and Green Concept stores then presented their styles live and to the touch on a Fair fashion show.

BUY GOOD STUFF – Fair Fashion Shopping Guide Köln will be available free of charge from October 2016 in selected shops in the city and in public places in the city. Fairness never goes out of fashion.
